Reference Materials on Chinese Orders, Decorations and Medals

Background information on Chinese awards as well as copies of published articles on the subject are, like the sale item lists, organized by time period.  As Chinese award systems of the various regimes are rather complicated, and there is a great variety of awards, it would not be possible to provide a comprehensive review of all the systems and the awards in this site.  What we try to do in the reference section is to provide brief historical background, highlight the key awards by type for each of the regimes, and include a few photos where available.  In the articles section, we include selected articles on various subjects related to Chinese orders, decorations and medals.  These articles, mostly published elsewhere, tend to deal with a subject matter in substantially greater depth than possible in the reference section.
