Why
this site?
This site grew out
of the webmaster's own interest in and collection of Chinese orders,
decorations &
medals, and is intended to be a focal
point for information on Chinese civilian
& military awards from Qing Dynasty, Early Chinese Republic,
Nationalist Republic, People's Republic, & other China-related regimes.
Chinese awards is a difficult
subject to make progress in. Unlike award systems of other major
countries, there is no complete reference on it. The few
references that exist are typically hard-to-find, in Chinese, & cover
only few awards from one regime. Few dealers specialize in
Chinese items. Often, a dealer may have one or two Chinese medals, &
they may be wrongly identified & priced. More recently, many fake awards
have appeared on auction sites or in catalogs.
Through this site, we hope to
network with people from around the world who are interested in this
subject and share information that might be useful to collectors and
students alike.
